Officers and Directors
Harry L. Smith, Jr., Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Smith, with over 14 years in the air filtration industry, has held roles of increasing responsibility at Flanders including working with the Flanders direct offices; ARW –Wholesale Division; FSS-Filter Sales and Service; FFI-Flanders Filters, Inc.; CSC-Charcoal Services, Inc., and AirSeal Filter Housings before becoming our Chief Operating Officer in August 2007. Mr. Smith assumed the position of President and Chief Executive Officer in November 2008 and in May 2009, Mr. Smith became Chairman of our Board of Directors. Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University in 1992.
John Oakley, President and Chief Financial Officer and Director
Mr. Oakley joined Flanders in January 2009 with 18 years of diverse experience in finance, accounting, and operations. Prior to joining Flanders, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Nexxus Lighting, Inc. Mr. Oakley also held several posts of increasing responsibility with Home Meridian International and its subsidiary Pulaski Furniture Corporation, including Director and CFO of Home Meridian, having joined the company in 2001. Earlier in his career, he served as Corporate Controller for Collins and Aikman Floorcoverings, Inc., now Tandus Group, and Senior Auditor for Arthur Andersen. Mr. Oakley holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
David M. Mock, Director
Mr. Mock has served as an independent director of the Company since August 2003 and serves on both the Compensation Committee, and Audit Committee. Mr. Mock is a General Partner with GMG Capital Partners, a New York-based investment firm, which he co-founded in 1997. Prior to joining GMS/GMG Partners, Mr. Mock was a private investor pursuing an investment strategy similar to that of GMG. Mr. Mock has extensive operations and private investment experience with respect to technology companies. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Captus Networks as well as serving as Director or Officer to several other companies including Alloptic, Inc., Forum Systems, and Connecting Point, Inc. Mr. Mock holds an Accounting degree from the University of Utah.
Kirk Dominick, Director
Mr. Dominick has served as an independent director of the Company since December 2007 and serves on the Compensation Committee and Audit Committee. For the last 17 years, Mr. Dominick served in various executive capacities with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He currently serves as Executive Vice President for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where he oversees the delivery of services to over 4,300 local affiliates across the United States and on military installations overseas. Prior to his involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Mr. Dominick served as President of DNS Associates, a privately owned consulting firm specializing in strategy development, organizational restructuring, management consulting, and board and resource development. In addition, Mr. Dominick is a partner in InnerBanks Capital, a private equity firm focused on real estate development in emerging growth markets. Mr. Dominick holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University.
Charlie Lee Tingen Jr.
Charlie Lee Tingen Jr., 40, is a Senior Financial Advisor with Bengala and Tingen, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. since 1995. Prior to providing 15 years of analysis and financial planning to individuals and businesses, Tingen was a loan officer with BB&T Corporation. Tingen received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University in 1992.
Wesley M. Measamer CPA
Wesley M. Measamer CPA, 39, is president of Wesley M. Measamer, CPA PA. Measamer has provided full service accounting services for 15 years to businesses within several industries including manufacturing and retail. Measamer is licensed with the NC State Board of Certified Public Accountants and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University.
Phil Hodges
Phil Hodges, 53, is the founder of Metrics, Inc., a contract pharmaceutical development company based in Greenville NC and currently serves as its President and CEO. Prior to Metrics, Hodges spent 12 years with Burroughs Wellcome Corporation in its analytical development laboratories. Hodges holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry from East Carolina University.
Executive Staff
Brenda Davis, Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Brenda has eighteen years of Human Resources experience in various roles. Brenda received her Senior Human Resources Professional certification in 1990. She is a member of the National Society of Human Resource Management, the NC SHRM and HR Executive.
Charlie Kwiatkowski, Vice President of Commercial and Industrial Division
Charlie has spent 34 years in the air filtration industry, 26 of those years with Flanders Filters Inc. and 8 years working with Purolator Air Filtration Company and CamfilFarr. Charlie has a background in Air Filtration manufacturing, construction & onsite field-testing and certification of HEPA & ULPA grade filters. He is also a member of NAFA and a Certified Air Filtration Specialist. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in US History from East Carolina University.
Kevin Boyd, Senior Vice President of Operations
Kevin has over 25 years of experience in the air filtration industry. Kevin has held positions of increasing responsibility within operations including Production Manager of Metal Products, Corporate Director of Facilities and Research/Development and General Manager of Flanders Filters, Inc. before rising to his current position in 2007. Kevin has an Applied Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Beaufort County Community College.
Travis Stephenson, Vice President of Retail Sales
Travis comes to Flanders with over 16 years experience in sales of consumer products. Travis most recently served as District Business Manager for Triton Boat Company, managing Triton’s mid-Atlantic territory and competitive account dealer development.
Travis is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA degree in Political Science.
